Tournament Rules

HOME TEAM:  Higher seeded teamis home team in pool & bracket.Home team will wear white.  Tournament directors may use judgement on lighter color in absence of white

GAME TIME:  Starting time will be enforced to the minute.  There is no grace period.    Teams will be given a minimum of 5 minute warm‐up time

REGULATION  BALLS: Grades 5th and under will use 28.5 balls  

TIME:  Any grade 6th and under will play two (2) 14 minute halves of regulation

Grades 7 and above will play two (2) 16 minutes halves of regulation 

OVERTIME:  Overtimes shall consist of 2 minute periods

HALFTIME: 2 minutes

TIMEOUTS:    3 timeouts to utilize per game.  1 timeout will be permitted per overtime period. No timeouts will be carried over into overtime

FOULS: Teams will shoot 1 and 1 on the 10th team foul Double bonus on the 12th team foul  

PERSONAL FOULS:   Individuals will have 5 personal fouls. On the 5th personal foul player is disqualified

PRESSING:  No pressing full court if a team is ahead by 20 points in the second half

Running Clock: Clock will run on any lead above twenty (20) in the 2nd half only. Running clock shall stop if point differential falls below 20

EJECTIONS:  Any player or coach ejected from a contest shall sit out the next contest and may be suspended from participating for the remainder of the tournament

  • All participants must have a current AAU membership.
  • AAU membership may not be included as part of the entry fee to the events.
  • AAU membership must be obtained before the competitions begin except where the event operator has a laptop available with an internet connection.
  • Participants are encouraged to visit the AAU web site to obtain their membership.
